BREED HANDLING GROUP

Showing your dog in Breed Competition is one of the oldest forms of Dog Show Competition.

Purebred dogs are bred to meet very specific ideals of physical, mental, and behavioral  traits  which are judged by experts in the Breed ring. Preparing and Exhibiting your dog to its best advantage to display those traits requires knowledge, skill,  great physical abilities, and  persistence. Whether it is crouching for long minutes to demonstrate the sweep of a long, low dog's top line,  or it is taking huge strides alongside a fast moving dog with a   ground-covering trot--the Show Handler has to have great skill and endurance and know just what to emphasize on their own dog.

Breed handling classes allow both the dogs and handlers to hone and refine many of the essential skills required to succeed in the show ring such as stacking, gaiting patterns, and  free-baiting.  As well as understanding ring etiquette and procedures.

Our classes will not have one specific instructor but will be a function of group members supporting, instructing, and assisting other group members.  Each participant should feel free to ask for help, and offer help where  needed.
