Ana Cilursu -Scentwork Instructor
I have been involved with Nosework since 2015 and am currently training and competing with both of my Rottweilers.
Axel and I are competing at the AKC Detective and NACSW Elite levels. We have completed our AKC Scent Work Master title and our NACSW NW3 Elite title.
My young dog Vi has her overall AKC Scent Work Novice title and her NACSW NW2 title. We are also working on Novice Elite element titles and have achieved our Advanced Exterior, Buried and Container titles. We are training for the higher levels in both venues.
I have been teaching Nosework at Wonderdogs Canine Training Center in Berlin NJ since September 2020.
I have been an AKC Scent Work judge since 2020 and have been a volunteer Training Assistant for the School of Nosework at Fenzi Dog Sports Academy (FDSA) since September 2018, coaching numerous teams online in various study groups
Joined SICDTC as Scent Work instructor June 2024.

Lori Capaccio -Scentwork Instructor
My Nosework journey began in 2012 when I took an in-person class with my Miniature Pinscher, Aspen. We fell in love with this amazing dog sport, competing and earning titles in NACSW, PSD, and AKC.
When my in-person classes were canceled due to lack of enrollment (Can you believe that was ever a thing?!), I turned to Fenzi Dog Sports Academy, an online school. I immersed myself in their top-notch scent work program, gaining an invaluable education that covered everything from odor theory to hide placement to handling strategies. Aspen and I continued to train and compete until she passed away at the age of thirteen. At the time, we were working toward our NW3 Elite title and competing at AKC’s Master level. After retiring from my elementary school teaching position, I began offering private nosework lessons. I found working on the other side of the start line to be incredibly fulfilling, so much so that I decided to apprentice to become an AKC Scent Work Judge. I hope to be certified in the near future. In addition, I continue seeking learning opportunities through FDSA and Scent Work University.
My most recent venture is establishing my own business. Aspen Scent Work is coming in 2026! I’m excited to honor my beloved dog by sharing our joy for a sport that enriched our lives beyond measure.
